Thu Dec 17, 2009 MPH Ventures Drill Program begins on the Godfrey Gold Property,Timmins, NE Ontario
Vancouver, BC -- MPH Ventures Corp. (TSX-V: MPS) (FWB: IJA1) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the mobilization and commencement of drilling on the Company's 100% owned Godfrey Gold property located 20 km west of Timmins, Ontario and 9 km northwest of the Lakeshore Gold Timmins Mine.
The plan is to complete two holes for a total of 400 metres before the Christmas break. Drilling will initially test Induced Polarization (IP) chargeability anomalies identified during the MPH Ventures fall 2009 geophysical program. IP surveys have delineated a prospective chargeability anomaly coincident with a resistivity anomaly extending for 275 metres across the south portion of the Godfrey Gold property. This area is host to a 125 metre long trench exposed by previous operators within a highly altered felsic intrusion. Multiple quartz veins and shear structures contain pyrite, chalcopyrite, galena and visible gold with grab sample assay results up to 429 grams/tonne gold (13.8 oz/ton Au).
Five grab samples collected during the Company's initial property visit returned assay values between 0.01 grams/tonne to 84 grams/tonne gold (2.7 oz/ton Au). The higher grade sample of quartz vein material contained pyrite and chalcopyrite, hosted within an altered felsic intrusion.
